Springtime brings longer days, warmer air and people looking for excuses to get outside and celebrate. In Spartanburg, those factors all converge in a continually-expanding spring events calendar, featuring celebrations of food, local music and art and more.
Stay tuned throughout the year for all the Spartanburg County events you should make time for. But for now, get ready for these springtime events and have a little fun.
Children and families of all ages are invited to the Inman Community Easter Egg Hunt, held at Inman’s Leroy Mathis Park.
The biggest annual festival in Spartanburg, Spring Fling returns to the calendar April 22-24.
Friday night features the biggest tailgate party in Spartanburg as The CRIT brings thousands of cyclists to downtown to tackle the streets in the “Fastest Night in Spartanburg.”
The streets will be lined with dozens of food and drink vendors, rides and games for all ages and musical performances throughout the day on Saturday, April 23 and Sunday, April 24.
New this year will be Breweries on Broad, a special feature for craft beer fanatics. Broad Street will play host to local and regional breweries, and $20 gets you tastings of 15 brews of your choosing from 1-5 PM Saturday and Sunday.
The biggest burger day in Spartanburg returns to downtown with creative burger creations crafted by local teams aiming to win a spot on Cribbs Kitchen’s menu. Best of all, there will be samples.
Mezcal’s Cinco de Mayo celebration will take over Morgan Square on May 7, bringing live music, multi-cultural celebrations and plenty of delicious food for all ages.
Participating museums and galleries are open from 5 – 8pm. Light refreshments are usually served.
The small business-focused market will be a recurring event on Mill Street in Inman throughout the spring. Local vendors will be set up and children’s activities will be open.
Downtown Spartanburg’s longtime music series returns to Morgan Square starting in April. Music on Main happens every Thursday from 5:30-8:30 PM through July.
This new Downtown Spartanburg music series will feature music from the last five decades in a wide range of genres on Morgan Square from 5:30-8:30 PM every Friday in April & May.
New to growing Downtown Woodruff, Thursdays on the Block will feature live musical performances, showcase local businesses and restaurants and have family-friendly activities lining Main Street.
